Fatemeh Jafari is a faculty member of the Persian Language Centre of Imam Khomeini International University in Qazvin. After completing her BA and MA degrees in Teaching French as a Foreign Language at The University of Tehran and Tarbiat Modares University respectively, she joined Imam Khomeini International University as an Instructor of Persian as a Foreign Language in March 2003. She has also taught Persian at Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute and International Centre for Persian Studies (The University of Tehran) for six years during 2005-2011. To date, she has a record of more than 25,000 hours of teaching Persian to non-Persian learners from more than 80 countries. Fatemeh Jafari is a proliferate author in the field of Teaching Persian as a Second Language. Her first book, Applied Grammar Exercises, was published in 2009. Her other books include: Applied Grammar (Two Volumes, Tehran University Press), Reading Comprehension (Basic Level, Tehran University Press), Reading Comprehension (Intermediate Level, Tehran University Press), Tales from Masnavi Ma’navi for Non-Persian Speakers and Iranian Beginners of Persian (co-authored with Iraj Shahbazi, Ghatreh Publications). Her research expertise in the field of Teaching Persian as a Second Language is interdisciplinary in nature and focuses mainly on the themes of culture and inter-cultural issues.
